Childhood Years

He was born Saevus Ferreus Draco, into the Caste of Physicians, in the glorious City of Ar. His father was prominent in the Caste of Physicians and a leader of the Cylinder of Physicians. His mother was born into the Green Caste and was, at one time, a Silver Mask in her home city of Tharna. His father first met her at the Sandar Fair, and had organized a raid on her caravan upon its departure from the Fair. She was captured, and she became his pleasure slave. She remained his slave for five years before being freed. He then took her as his Free Companion.

Saevus led a privileged life and passed his younger years pleasantly enough in scholarly pursuits, learning the arts and sciences and the specialized knowledge of the Caste of Physicians. He took advantage of the myriad of activities-- and pleasures-- that a wealthy city such as Ar has to offer. When at his parents' villa, at the base of the Voltai Mountain Range, he hunted the mountain larl. In the Stadium of the Tarns, he was known for racing his father's Tarn, Ajax.

Because of his reputation, his father did not want it known that he secretly supported many merchant expeditions financially. To the thrill of young Saevus, he was fortunate to be allowed to accompany them. Thus, in his youth he traveled through many lands and met many of the peoples of Gor. It was during those times that he developed a wanderlust, always yearning for travel and new experiences.

The Warrior

The blood in his veins had always run hot for adventure. In the "wisdom" of youth, he saw life as a physician as bland... boring. He rejected the profession of his Caste and turned his back upon it, much to the consternation of his Father and the tears of his mother. Saevus joined the Caste of Warriors, where he learned the many skills required of that Caste. He was already a master at handling a tarn, so near the end of his training he was sent to join the noble division of Warriors known as Tarnsmen. Because of his diverse educational background and experiences, he rose quickly in the ranks to become an officer.

Ferreus Draco, as he was known while a Warrior, served notably in many campaigns, including the defense of Ar from the horde of Pa-Kur. For his efforts and leadership, he was honored several times by the Ubar of the City of Ar. With Ar in stable hands, Ferreus then set out with a small band of Warriors and Tarnsmen under his command. His band joined countless causes and their reputation grew, far and wide, for their honor, bravery, and commitment to duty.

The Physician Returns

The Warrior, however, eventually grew tired of the many battles and bloodshed, and the desire for adventure was sated. He began to yearn for the simpler joys of life, and decided to return to his previous life as a physician. He returned to Ar and, after receiving approval from the Ubar, he petitioned the Caste of Physicians to reclaim the Caste of his birthright. His request was soon granted.

Saevus Draco now has his Home Stone in the Cylinder of Physicians, where he serves as the Administrator. The Cylinder of Physicians was recently moved from the Central Cylinder of Ar to a new property on the outskirts of Ar, adjacent to the Draco kalana groves and winery. This relocation will allow for modernization and future expansion, as well as a more relaxed environment on a one-half-pasang-square site. The new facility is located by a river, and has a breathtaking view of the Voltai Mountain Range. The Draco Family also maintains private residences on the grounds of their kalana groves north of Ar; the family compound, Draco's Keep, in the foothills of the spectacular Voltai Mountain Range; and, a palacial estate on the south bank of theVosk River.

Wanderlust, the old demon of his youth, still gets the better of him at times. He then sets his feet onto the paths of Gor which yet remain untraveled. Although he is now a Physician, the Warrior still lives just barely under the green mantel of his Caste. Saevus Ferreus Draco is always ready to draw his sword in defense of his honor, his Home Stone, his family, and his friends.
